Casal di Principe is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Caserta in the Italian region Campania, located about 25 km northwest of Naples and about 20 km southwest of Caserta.
Casal di Principe is the hometown of several Camorra criminal clans, such as the Casalesi clan headed by of Francesco Schiavone, who was born there. The Camorra has a strong control over the economic life of the town. The Popolo della Libertà former junior minister Nicola Cosentino, accused in 2010 of camorra allegiance, was born here in 1959.
The town is also famous for the production of buffalo mozzarella, which is exported worldwide.
